Kim TaylorTeachers at CCS are in the business of gardening.  Every day we plant seeds, every day we water seeds that have been planted by others, and every day we pray that God will help those seeds to germinate and grow.  According to I Corinthians 3:6, Christians work together to plant God’s word in the hearts of others, so that God can “give the increase” and bring souls to Himself.

This year, God has been busy harvesting 2nd grade souls!  Out of 16 students in my class, six have received Christ as their Savior this school year.  God has used different means to bring each of these children to salvation.  Some have been saved at home with their parents, some have been saved as a result of a chapel message, and others have been saved at school after God worked in their heart through a class discussion.

As teachers, we are sometimes unaware of when we are planting seeds.  It’s a mystery how the Holy Spirit can work through things we say without us realizing that what we have said has given the Spirit a chance to convict. It is obvious that God can direct our conversations to help us reach the students whose hearts are ripe and ready to come to Christ.   What a blessing it is that God allows us to share in His work!  - Mrs. O'Dwyer, second grade teacher

CCS Team

The elementary student activities at CCS are designed to address the spiritual, mental, and physical aspects of our students’ development. Elementary students enjoy instruction from caring, certified teachers with years of teaching experience.

Weekly chapel services and Bible class provide opportunities for students to be instructed and challenged to study, learn, and obey God’s Word. The Bible is practical and applicable in every facet of life, and our students are taught and reminded that obedience to God’s Word is the key to God’s blessings.

Christian character is emphasized through our character education program which focuses on monthly character traits. Students can take part in a variety of character related activities and service projects both in and out of the classroom.

To encourage mental development, our students participate in a variety of curricular activities including Accelerated reader and academic clubs. Elementary students receive foreign language instruction through our Spanish education program and Spanish Club.

Elementary students enjoy a variety of specials classes including PE, music, art, library and computer on a weekly basis. To learn more about the curriculum, click on Elementary Profile.

In order to emphasize the importance of regular healthy activity and exercise, students participate in a daily recess period. Student may also choose to take part in intramurals, team sports, or gymnastics.
