Since
1986, Dr. James has served as the Administrator of Calvary Christian School.
Having served in two previous Christian schools, Dr. James has utilized
his personal experience and knowledge to provide solid leadership for
CCS.
With
a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Temple
University, he also has a Master of Science degree in Education
Administration and a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from Liberty University. With experience in the elementary, middle and high school
classrooms, Dr. James shares a passion for quality Christian education.
Dr. James
is responsible for the on-site operation of the school campus which is
housed on 70 acres. Serving with three other principals and 45 other staff
members, he is responsible to the Chairman of the Executive Committee.
Working alongside an active school board, Dr. James coordinates and initiates
a variety of activities and projects including professional growth for
staff members, the oversight of the school budget and making policy recommendations.
Saved at
the age of 19, Don turned his interests away from a career in the Air
Force and felt the Lord's leading into full-time Christian work. While
at college he met his wife Sue. Don and Sue have two children: Matthew
and Mackenzie.
Kim
Taylor

Mrs.Taylor
grew up in upstate New York. She was raised in a Christian home and is
the oldest of three children. After graduating from high school, she went
on to attend Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, where
she majored in Elementary Education. Approximately twenty years later,
she returned to Baptist Bible College where she completed her Master's
degree in May of 2004 in curriculum and instruction. She holds both certification
from the Association of Christian Schools International and the State
of Kentucky.
Mrs. Taylor has taught at Calvary Christian School for the past six years.
In the Spring of 2005, God clearly led her to accept the position of elementary
principal at CCS.
Mrs. Taylor has been married to her husband Dean for over twenty years.
They have three sons, all of whom have attended or are currently attending
Calvary Christian School. Mrs. Taylor and her husband are active members
of Calvary Baptist Church where she has served in the music ministry for
the past ten years.
Mrs. Taylor enjoys whatever challenges her to grow and learn. In her free
time she spends time with her family, reads, and walks.
Jerry Sewell
Middle and High School Principal

Mr. Sewell is a new addition to the CCS staff, assuming the duties of middle and high school principal with the 2007-08 school year. He is returning to his home area, having grown up in Blue Ash. He and his wife, Marit, a native Californian, have two daughters and a son. Marit’s love is horses, and she has been competing in the hunter/jumper arena since the age of six. She is currently an instructor at a Burlington-area riding facility.
Mr. Sewell is a graduate of Sycamore High School in Montgomery, OH. He studied history at Cedarville University and the University of Cincinnati. From 1973 until 1984, he served as an Ohio state trooper. Called to the ministry in 1984, he received a B.S. in pastoral theology from Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, IN. He spent the next nineteen years as the pastor of churches in Michigan and western Montana, receiving his seminary degree (M.Min.) from Northland Baptist Bible College, Dunbar, WI, in 1995. He established Bills Lake Baptist Academy, a traditional K-12 Christian school, in which he functioned as administrator, principal, and high school teacher. He has twelve years of classroom experience and has taught a broad range of subjects including Bible, history, government, economics, English grammar and literature, algebra, geometry, speech, and logic. He has also taught systematic theology, Old and New Testament survey, pastoral counseling, and church history at the college level.
Mr. Sewell will soon be publishing his first book, Second-Class Christians, a compassionate, thoroughly biblical examination of the many questions surrounding divorce and remarriage involving Christian families.
Jody
Hilsher
Athletic Director

Mr. Hilsher
was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He attended Mt. Calvary Christian
School from which he graduated and learned to love the Christian school
ministry. He then attended Pensacola Christian College where he earned
a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education as well as a Master of Science
in Educational Administration.
After earning
his undergraduate degree, Mr. Hilsher taught for two years at Pensacola
Christian Academy where he also coached boy's basketball, baseball, and
track. He came to CCS in 1995 where he assumed the Athletic Director's
position.
His other duties include Red/Gold Coordinator and Intramural Program Director. Jody is an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Hilsher and his wife Dee Dee have four children: Carley, Carter, Ellie, and Eli. He enjoys all types of sports, amusement parks, the beach, swimming, and spending time with his wife and family. |
