Objectives for 1st Grade art curriculum:

• Demonstrate painting skills
• Cut lines and shapes with scissors
• Demonstrate pasting and gluing skills
• Identify a variety of lines & shapes
• Produce recognizable images
• Identify primary colors, mix secondary colors
• Create a self-portrait
• Create a relief print
• Construct paper puppets
• Model a clay pinch pot
• Take an imaginary walk through drawing an
  imaginary neighborhood
• Contribute to a group mural on a selected theme
• Develop Christian character creating art with others
• Recognize art as a gift from God
